The time was around the Egyptian Pharaohs when colon cleanse was first discovered. It was probably already known to mankind before that time but there are no existing records to prove that. The earliest records show that the Egyptians were the first to master this art and used rudimentary tools to perform the procedure that is today done using sophisticated and modern tools that ensure safety. They used only a reed to direct water flow into the colon via the rectum and anal opening.
As the centuries rolled by the art was forgotten and then remembered in western civilizations only to once again reach prominence towards the start of the 19th century. That is when all the modern machinery to conduct colon irrigation was developed and many new herbs for the purpose were also harvested. However, in the 1950s, many botched attempts at colon cleansing left a few people hurt and seriously wounded for life causing the public to panic and brand colon cleansing as a dangerous process. Even the medical world suddenly turned its back on the process it once supported so vehemently.
